Welcome to your forecast for the month of July, which kicks off with a solar eclipse. Yes, another one! We then proceed with urgency towards a full moon in Capricorn, and hopefully end up lounging around with the lions of Leo by a waterhole.
July 1: New moon in Cancer plus solar eclipse. This is the third and final eclipse for winter, and it’s extremely powerful. If you found yourself depressed, fearful and/or uninspired during June (thanks to a dream-deflating eclipse in Sag on June 16), you can look forward to feeling more determined as July unfolds.
But “determined” doesn’t necessarily equal “clarity”. Your action plan for turning your dreams into reality may confront an obstacle, or strike you as too ambitious. It’s not impossible; it’s just that this eclipse highlights the tension between the old paradigm (“Big Brother is taking care of everything; I think I’ll just go shopping”) and the new paradigm (“WHOOPS! Big Brother ain’t doing so great; maybe I’ll have a go at creating my own reality!”).
To put it another way, you’re bouncing back and forth between seeing yourself as a victim and seeing yourself as a creator. Which point of view are you going to stick with? It’s time to firmly re-install your new beliefs.
July 3 to 8: Jupiter in Taurus links up with Chiron and Pluto. If you get to July 3 with your action plan for 2011 intact, now is the time to get out there and do something. Jupiter is on board; all you have to do is invoke his assistance. (Invoking the assistance of the gods used to be known as “prayer” but that little word is way too loaded down with ancient Roman baggage for my taste. Still, it’s the same essential idea. Try it and see.)
July 15: Full moon in Capricorn. Themes for mid-month include shouldering your responsibilities versus sulking; and that niggling issue of your superiority complex versus unconditional love and compassion for all sentient beings. This entire year is about getting your relationships into better shape. Remember, this starts with you, not with “fixing” the other person. Practice allowing a certain someone to be exactly as they are. Then, at a different time of the day, go within and ask yourself honestly if you really want to hang out with this certain someone, given that this is exactly who they are right now. It’s a simple but piercing question.
July 23 to 29: Sun and Venus enter Leo. The sun links up with electrical Uranus in Aries. Perhaps you’ll do something spontaneous and colourful to remind yourself that creating your own reality can be fun! Or you might choose to be counter-intuitive and join the rest of us by the waterhole with the lions. Lounging around is highly recommended as July winds up. The new moon in Leo arrives on July 31, but we’re too flaked out to get excited about that until August gets going. Talk to you then.
