I was born and raised in Canberra, Australia, without a hitch, to begin with – until a mysterious inner voice suggested it might be fun to drop Advanced Algebra and take up Experimental Clowning instead.
It was love at first sight of a uni-cycle. I realized that art had the power to change the world, so I packed my bags and headed for Melbourne, the cultural Mecca of Oz.
I studied Theatre and Literature at Deakin Uni – a wild adventure that had me gasping for breath all the way from Greek tragedy to Shakespeare to modernism and beyond. After graduating, I worked as an actor, script writer, director and drama tutor for over ten years. I was cast as a talking figure-head on a ship from another dimension, a mother obsessed by ideal love, a career woman on safari with a neurotic hippopotamus, and other delightful and mind-expanding roles.
Theatre critics described me as “very funny” and “exceptionally talented“. It would have been great if they had said I’d “instantly raised the consciousness of the planet with one arch of an eyebrow,” but never mind.
At thirty, I gave up my career in the theatre and moved to a beach shack on the wild east coast of Australia. I wanted to “find myself”. I spent my days in therapy and my evenings reclining in a cast iron bath on the porch. I gazed at the stars – and before too long, they began to speak to me.
If only I could understand what they were saying! Off I went to see an astrologer – and by the time my session was up, I knew I had found my second career.
I studied astrology with eminent Oz astrologer David Christenson, and meanwhile completed a Bachelor of Counselling at the University of New England. After graduating, I worked as a Creative Arts Therapist for the NSW Department of Health and started doing readings for friends. In my spare time, I stood on my head and recited the Sutra Yogas, rediscovered my third eye, visited past lives, painted mandalas and surfed with seaweed.
Now, I’m a forty-something astrologer on the Sunshine Coast of Australia, where you don’t have to type in your mittens and you can put your whole bikini into your life purpose.
I give astrology readings to people all around Australia and overseas, and I am now the chief astrology columnist for “YOUR STARS” magazine, published by the Psychic Club of Australia.
My columns, articles and short stories have also appeared in the “Noosa News” (APN), “Hinterliving Magazine, “Holistic Bliss” magazine, “Sacred Fire” magazine in the USA, and an anthology called ”Goddess Quest“.
My writing has been described as “the best thing in the paper”, “funny”, “brilliant”, “inspiring” and “accurate“. I’m now writing my first novel – a magical tale of galactic proportions, to be published in 2012. At long last, I’ve discovered that the art that changes the world is laughter, love, stories and stars. 2012, here we come!
